  • The Battle of the Grand CouronnĂ© begins. The Battle lasts until 13 September 1914, when the French 2nd Army defeats the German 6th Army.
  • The German Government agrees to observe the “Declaration of London” if other belligerents conform thereto, and issue their list of contraband.
