- The Australian Light Horse sees their first action in the Middle East as the 9th Light Horse Regiment A squadron captures the Turkish outpost of Jifjaffa in the Sinai, some 60km from the Suez Canal.
- After six days of fighting Russian troops repulse Turkish forces west of Erzerum
