- Eric Brodie McKay enlists. Eric is commemorated on the Centenary of WWI in Orange Honour Roll; he would die of wounds in France on 10 August 1916.
- The children of Borenore Sunday School donate £6/2/6 to the Belgian Fund. The children had decided that rather than holding an annual picnic they would donate their money to “the starving Belgians.” The Belgian Fund
