Perhaps you have heard that I had a bit of an argument with one of Fritz’s shells — an argument in which I came off second best. However, there was very little damage done — only succeeded in burying me, and bruising my chest and shoulder etc. — a small matter of a six weeks’ rest in hospital. I am beginning to be-come an expert dancer now. We have a lot of practice these days. Half one’s time is spent in waltzing up and down duck boards, and if I had a more amiable partner than a rifle or Lewis gun, and if the music was a wee bit sweeter than the hum of machine gun bullets, I would have an extra high time.
