- The Leader reports that the family of Harold Charles Wythes of Cheeseman’s Creek have been informed of his death in action in September 1917. Harold was, in fact, killed in the Battle of Bullecourt on 3 May 1917. He was initially reported “missing in action”; a court of enquiry held on 28 November 1917 upgraded his status to “killed in action”. Private HC Wythes
