- French forces repulse a German attack at Lihons in northern France
- Italian troops advance on Asiago plateau in northern Italy and take Monte Isodoro
- British forces bombard aerodromes at El Arish on the Sinai Peninsula
- HMS Eden collides with the French troop carrier HMT France in the English Channel. Eden sinks with the loss of her commander, Lieutenant ACN Farquhar and 42 officers and men. The damaged SS France rescues 33 men.
