- William Henry (‘Burly’) Wright enlists. William is commemorated on the Centenary of WWI in Orange Honour Roll; he would die of wounds in Belgium on 7 November 1917.
- Eric Green dies of wounds in France. Eric is the second person from the Orange district to die on the Western Front.
- Italian forces evacuate Asiago in northern Italy as Austrian troops move in. The Austrians advance west of Arsiero, to Posina.
