- George Henry Bruce enlists. George is commemorated on the Centenary of WWI in Orange Honour Roll; he would be killed in action in France on 7 February 1917.
- The Leader reports on Saturday’s meeting of community leaders in the Town Hall during which it was declared that there are “hundreds of shirkers in Orange”.
