- The assault on Baby 700 at Gallipoli continues. Two more men from Orange are killed in action: William Daniel McCarthy and Joseph McCullough.
- The Leader publishes the first casualty list of the war, containing 34 [sic] names, 19 killed (three of whom are from NSW) and 14 wounded (five from NSW). No mention is made of casualties from Orange.
- The Defence Department declares that next of kin will be informed of a casualty as quickly as possible and no names will appear on a casualty list until the next of kin has been informed.
